A new personal project!

I'm happy to announce the beginning of my first personal project in a long time. It's a new photography book, and I'll be featuring the beautiful St. Kitts and Nevis!

Why SKN?

This will be the first in a series of photography books and I chose St. Kitts and Nevis for two main reasons:

  1. St. Kitts and Nevis is different enough from Dominica that it will be a significant challenge for me. Dominica is steeped in green nature - rain forests, rivers and waterfalls. Whereas St. Kitts and Nevis is widely known for its beaches. I'll need to step outside of my comfort zone for this one!
  2. The two-island nation has been one of the best performing Eastern Caribbean islands in the tourism sector for the last couple years. I expect this trend to continue and hope the book will be a n asset as a promotional tool.

Logistics

Length of stay

The plan is to spend approximately four weeks in St. Kitts and Nevis and work closely with a local tour operator to see the sites and learn about the country.

I have a lot of learning to do and I look forward to it!

Accommodations

Traveling is fun but spending money isn't. One of the most expensive areas of travel is accommodation, so I've decided to try out Airbnb for the first time.

If you didn't know, Airbnb was started by folks who had free space to share and hosted a few travelers who needed somewhere to stay. More than 10 years later, Airbnb is now a community of millions of property owners who host travelers all over the world.

The platform is known for it's budget   options and that's what I'm after... cheap but decent accommodation. This will be my first time using the service and hope to write about it here soon. In the meantime, if you do travel and need somewhere cheap to stay, use this link to book via Airbnb: https://abnb.me/e/YAKEt9sW1W .

Progress

I'll be traveling without a computer and will be sharing the progress of my trip via my Instagram feed and story highlights.

Are you on Istagram? Check out my profile. Be sure to follow me and like the photos! I'd also love your feedback, so let me know what you think!
